    Ugh, I can't do mid-day naps at all. Not only does it usually take me at least a half hour to fall asleep, but when I wake up I feel like absolute garbage. It's just how I'm put together.

    Can't do fats either. I tried that last year. My cholesterol ended up around 250, with a not-good HDL ratio. Fortunately I'm not really into refined sugar anway, and I can vouch for how satisfying fats are: I really was eating less overall when I made sure I got lots of fat because I just didn't feel the need. But you don't want to end up on statins either.

  22. im 20 years old, handball player/poker player, and had really hard time for my mental focus. the things you say is things i should know of course, but they really puts myself in a great perspective when and what to eat, sleep, use cofein etc. very good video thanks!

  24. Alec I have enjoyed your videos for a while. One thing you said in a video about exercising was if your not sweating in the first five min stop and start over. Thats been the best advice for me. Thanks and I will try to stop calling my self a fucking idiot when I mess up a hand lol

  26. I've been working on taking my performance to the next level in poker and also in other areas. I recently took the LSAT and did a lot of prep. Focused a lot on all the things you were talking about: sleep, mental game (positive mindset), and diet. I think that that probably helped me with poker as well. I agree with you about cutting out sugar and replacing it with healthy fats. I've been putting a tablespoon of organic butter in my coffee every morning, great brain food! Just wanted to say hello. Thanks for great content.
