How to Play Poker

Poker Participant Has Five Playing cards & Won’t Understand It!!

Past 7 days on Stay At The Bike we performed some $5/5 PLO that performed $5/5/10/twenty/40/eighty on event. This is one particular of those people fingers and something exclusive happened right here. I raised pre-flop with what I believed was QQ88 double suited and known as a 3bet to $1040. Right after the flop came down, I seemed back at my hand only to notice I in fact experienced 5 cards… WTF!!! The flooring was known as about and a dialogue was experienced… it did not go in my favor but I assume I could have done more…

  1. Interesting Video – It happens live a lot, to get an extra card.  At my local card room, if Significant action has occurred, then you get to keep the extra card.  SA is defined by 2 actions that put chips into the pot, or three actions that do not put chips in the pot.I think SA is also defined in the TDA rules (I know you don't like tourneys, but lots of card rooms follow those rules for cash games as well.) 5 cards are now better than 4 = +EV

  4. Maybe some people will say I'm lying, but if I were the other player I would have just given your money back to you. It is basically a misdeal.

  5. Antonio is a fukn broke scumbag he could’ve atleast gave him a quarter of the pot or something what a douche tell me why this hand reminded me of that douche torelli when he angled that dude hiding his big chips “oh idk the floor ruled so what can I do” fukn punks

  6. It sucks, but I think the ruling is correct. If they don't kill the hand, then it creates the opportunity for a player to bluff to the river and then have the bets cancelled if it doesn't work. I had a similar situation a few years ago where another player has an A of diamonds and one came out on the turn. He said he didn't realize until the cards were tabled. The floor ruled his hand dead but said if he had reported it when the turn card came out that they would have pulled his bets back. The lesson is that the responsibility is always on the player even if a dealer error started it.

  7. Terrible ruling! This is a misdeal and the money should be given completely back to the players involved perfectly, including the rake! So dirty. Joey, you’re kinda dumb, too. :p

  9. Pretty clean cut IMO, any hand without the exact amount of cards in it is a dead hand. It is the players responsibility to recognize a hand without the proper amount of cards in it and speak up immediately.

  13. Obviously, you wouldn't try to win at showdown with five cards. A solution I thought of would be to have your five cards randomly shuffled face down and you choose four of the five cards to play with.

  20. I don’t see how this isn’t a miss deal the fifth card in joeys hand would of changed the board anyways and the action could of been different as a result. They should all just have to pull there money back I know it sucks for Antonio but it sucks worse the other way Joey since he actually looses money this way and the other way no one looses anything for a dealers mistake

  21. Fuck that joey bro i think you should have got anothe ruling thats bullshit

  22. You should've just started yelling and screaming at the floor man and dealer and demanded a supervisor. Most people don't like confrontation and will just give you what you want to avoid it. Worst that could happen is they 86 you for the night.

  25. The Floor ruling is not correct. The Hand is dead yes, but from the start. So you should get your money back.
Specially because you said yourself that you have to much cards and there was clearly no intention to use the dealers mistake to your advantage.
it can be different if you try to win the pot with 5 cards.
after all its job of the dealer to make shure the game runs correctly and fair. its his job to make shure everyone get dealed the correct amount of cards and put in the correct amount of money.
no you dont have to double chek all your cards, thats ridicolous

  26. Good ruiling. It's to prevent people from freerolling when they have more cards.

  27. I guess you can convincingly tell Antonio that you assumed to have QsQd8s8d and ask him to pay out the pot to you guys according to the equity you would have in that spot, maybe put in some extra percentages because the ruling is not on your side. Especially in such a game type with everyone having a good time, you could realistically find a sympathetic ear for your suggestion.

  28. I normally dont comment on these videos, but your excuse is ridiculous. You should always know how many and what cards you have. I wouldnt want to play with anybody who would pull some shit like this.

  29. I think it should be ruled a misdeal and all monies returned. Idk what sequence these cards came out, but the misread affects the action of the entire hand and flop. We wouldn't have this situation if the dealer did it correct in the first place!

  30. Just a once in a decade crappy moment. What would have been really interesting, is if you had of hit the set or snap called the rest with the flush draw, and didn't realise until the cards were tabled! Which might have happened if Doug didn't ask to look at the cards.

  34. Clearly the dealers fault. Joey shouldn't have lost a cent in that hand. It's not like he cheated or expected to show down 5 cards without anyone noticing.
    @joeingram1 Sue that dealers ass.

  37. Even the ruling may have been correct, I can't see how it is fair that your hand is deemed dead. Either give everyone that invested in the pot their money back and re-play the hand with new cards or work out a deal between the two of you seems like the fair thing to do.

  41. My most frequent poker dream is where I'm playing a hand where I have like 7 cards and I am trying to go through all of them to see if they match the board… lol.. this video was funny

  42. When does this not become a misdeal? After first preflop action, after second, after third etc? Seems pretty silly to me not to rule to give back everyones money and redeal the hand.

    Reply
  43. It's a bad ruling. The action should be reversed (the player's bets returned). Especially since they have it all on video and can easily do that. I don't think it ultimately matters as I believe you would have folded. You have to assume Antonio has three aces here as he is new to the game and you would think his 3-bet range consists mostly or entirely of aces.

  44. First of all, you fucking idiot:  stop saying "I didn't see the card!"  It's obviously your fault you didn't count the number of cards and verifying your hand before putting money in the pot.  Also, the correct ruling here is this is supposed to be a dead hand and all players are supposed to be refunded what they put in the pot.

  45. Well played Floor, vnf.

Obvi that shit is on YOU Papi! It's YOUR responsibility to protect your hand from these card jockeys with their 5-card forcefold exPLOititive strat. And all of this not long after some other deck donk dealt an alarming number of 4 card flops in the Inaugural KOTH Tournament, directly resulting in Vanessa Selbst losing to a recreational player. Bottom line Joey, it's time you got back in the mu'fuckin lab yo…hoord! These younger dealers have all but solved Toomanycards'ing and you're behind the 8-ball…it's time to chop up that 8-ball and hit the books. That means less time playing chess and postponing you're revenge match with Fedor's gf. You gotta Eat. Sleep.T-O-M. "Theoretically Optimal Misdealing". Get some coaching, be a narcissist, invest in crypto, run for office. They say that it won't be long before the"Greatest Game" of Heads Up NLHE is fully solved, so it's only a matter of time before the "Great Game" of PLO follows.
