  2. I think the fold is probably the best move. I am wondering if a raise on the flop is profitable.

  3. Wait, you punt off 2k on the 88 hand and still book +$700. You are the man.

  5. In regards to the heart flush river bluff: i like putting your chips to work in different spots for bluffing like your 7-high semi bluff, the small ball stuff that risks small for a nice return with a better backup plan against callers. I felt like in this spot the price would be huge on later streets, you're not guaranteed the fold although expected, you're definitely losing with your 88 and have to improve (although nice expected outs) and don't like being forced into the big bluff if the heart falls, even though i felt the 500 bet from opponent made it clear fear of a flush and would expect the fold to a big river heart bet. The expected huge amount of the bluff required and what you could better do with those chips in later hands ultimately makes me fold early.

  7. I think on the 88 hand I'd just give up on the turn. You're blocking a large portion of their draws and getting a pretty bad price. And your thoughts about being able to barrel when the flush connects could be wrong, because a lot of their draws that you're ahead of are flush draws.

  8. I think that if you remember this spot against the reg and put the same pressure on him the next time you've got it, then having equity beyond getting the bet through is justification for leaning in… if you really can't parse out what's best.
Try to watch how they squirm and make note of how you do it for the future. Though, deviating is a hard thing to do on both ends.

  9. Glad QJ works for you, it rarely does for me, even when I hit. I'm usually up against AQ or AJ and get out-kicked. On the 88 hand, wow… good play on your part, can't believe he called. Me personally would have let it go on the Turn but the $500 bet was def to get you off any draw, esp the flush. And you're right, some people don't like folding. I had one in my home tourney. I got 10-6 diamonds on the button, able to limp in. Flop is 10-10-8…. sb leads out, and only I stay in. Continuation turn bet, I call. All-in on the river, I have him covered but its brick-brick, I don't get my 6. Doesn't matter anyhow, he flopped the boat with 10-8. I prob should've folded assuming he had a better kicker with his 10, like K10 or A10. I also only called cuz I had him covered. I could find a fold, if my tournament life was on the line.

  12. if your gona call almost any flop you should shove and also get some fold equity preflop. …… because that gives you fold equity

  14. Only question I have is: If instead of 88 you actually had the flush draw, would you have still jammed that river, or would you have bet smaller to try and get value? Especially since the player was pretending to look strong and would likely fold to a large bet. And if so, does that make your river shove look more like a bluff?

  20. I'd say give it up. That big of a bet just makes your EV way too narrow to risk the river play, even if you are deep. There is too much downside.
